SEATTLE & PUGET SOUND
QUIRKS, QUAKES AND SUNKEN FORESTS

 ESCAPADE DETAILS

Quirks, Quakes and Sunken Forests

A 3 to 3.5 hour Escapade looking at some of the quirks and unusual aspects of Seattle, the history, natural beauty and geology of Puget Sound. Join us on this informative, irreverent and fun tour to discover the quirky, and ‘quakey’ side of Seattle.

We’ll find answers to the following mysteries!

  • Where the first Western settlers landed, and how they lived

  • Why there’s a Statue of Liberty on one of our beaches?

  • How the city transformed from old-growth forests to the bustling metropolis it is today

  • Why there’s a troll lurking around under a bridge and how it came to get there!

  • The reason the city’s steep hills run East-West, while moving North-South is comparatively easy

  • What dropped a house-sized rock into a northern Seattle neighborhood, and why there are others around the region

  • Sunken forests of Lake Washington, what caused them and why a local man was accused of being a timber pirate

  • The fault running under Seattle that could unleash an Earthquake as big as the San Andreas fault, and evidence of past quakes

  • The mysterious soda machine which vends random drinks to people and has everyone baffled...

Join us and learn something interesting about the city, get off the beaten track and tourist trail and have some fun doing so…
